Who is ACTS Missions?

ACTS Missions is a Catholic non-profit organization based in San Antonio, Texas. We facilitate the ACTS Apostolate with a mission to help parishes build vibrant, faith-filled communities through the power of ACTS Retreats.

Since our beginning, our vision has been simple but transformative: to partner with parishes and empower lay leaders to bring people into a deeper encounter with Christ. Many people know the retreat itself — but they may not realize at ACTS Missions there’s an entire framework of staff, Chapter volunteers, and countless others in support behind the scenes to help make it happen.

So, how does it work? When a parish desires to bring the ACTS Retreat to their community, they reach out to us at ACTS Missions. We respond by helping to mission the retreat to that parish — sending trained teams to guide and support them through the process of hosting their first retreat and building an ACTS community.

But our role doesn’t stop there. ACTS Missions works closely with pastors and bishops to ensure that the retreat stays faithful to its founding vision and to the teachings of the Catholic Church. Over the years, we have developed thorough training materials and guidelines that have become the official directives for parishes putting on ACTS Retreats.

This training is crucial. By training retreat leaders in the parishes, we help ensure that each ACTS Retreat is offered in a spirit of unity and authenticity, staying true to the format that has helped transform countless lives around the world. We know how important it is to maintain the trust and approbation of local bishops, so our materials undergo careful theological review to keep the retreat sound and faithful.

ACTS Missions also works to support parishes in other ways — for example, by providing scholarships for team members and retreatants so that financial barriers never stand in the way of experiencing this life-changing encounter.

In short, ACTS Missions exists to serve, train, and walk alongside parishes as they build up their communities of faith — one retreat, one team, and one heart at a time. If you’ve ever experienced an ACTS Retreat, you’ve seen firsthand the fruits of this mission. And if you haven’t yet, we invite you to learn more and see how ACTS Missions continues to help awaken faith and deepen discipleship in parishes everywhere.

Together, we’re building up the Body of Christ.
